A limited number of test centres offer the IELTS for UK Visas and Immigration (Academic) on computer. (Please note that you are still able to complete IELTS for UKVI on paper if you prefer.)

If you’re interested in taking the IELTS for UKVI (Academic test) on a computer, check with your local test centre. They’ll be able to provide you with up-to-date information regarding the availability of computer-delivered testing in your area. Use the drop-down list below to find your local test centre.

Test takers who choose this option will take their Listening, Reading and Writing components using computer. The Speaking component will continue to be conducted face-to-face, as this has always been a key feature of the IELTS approach. We believe this is the most effective way of assessing speaking skills and inspires a more accurate and realistic performance from test takers.
