Yangzhou University (YZU) is co-sponsored by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Education, a key comprehensive university of Jiangsu Province, as well as one of the first among colleges and universities authorized to grant master and doctoral degrees, pioneering in China in the merging of higher educational institutions. YZU was established in 1992 as a merger of 6 colleges in Yangzhou, while the history of YZU can be traced back to as early as 1902, when Mr. Zhang Jian, a renowned modern entrepreneur and educator, set up the Tongzhou Private Teachers’ School and Tonghai Agricultural School
