University of Tampere was formerly the Civic College, specialised in journalism, established in Helsinki, Finland in 1925. In 1960, it was relocated in Tampere city, the third largest city in Finland and was renamed the University of Tampere. It was then invested on academic size and diversified in majors, with 9 affiliate schools.
