The Public Foreign Language Institute originated from the Public Foreign Language Teaching and Research Group of Nanchong Teachers College, which was established in the autumn of 1957. This was the first foreign language teaching organization in higher education institutions in Northeast Sichuan. With the continuous growth of the school's running power, the public foreign language teaching and research group was upgraded to the public foreign language teaching and research department. In 1996, the school's foreign language department and the public foreign language teaching and research department merged to form our school's first secondary college-the foreign language college.
