The School of Advanced Study at the University of London brings together 10 internationally-renowned research institutes to form the UK's national centre for the support of researchers and the promotion of research in the humanities and social sciences. The School also hosts a multidisciplinary centre, the Human Rights Consortium.The School is the only institution in the UK that is nationally funded to promote and facilitate research in the humanities and social sciences and receives special funding for this purpose from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).
