The Kentucky Board of Nursing is an agency of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, governed by the Nurse Practice Act. The Board is a separate and distinct entity from any professional association. Our job is to protect public health and welfare by developing and enforcing state laws governing the safe practice of nursing. The Board is self-supporting through fees assessed for professional licensure. The agency receives no general fund tax appropriation.
